Camberwell New Road
The proposed aparthotel rooms are situated within an existing office space with generous floor to ceiling heights and a stripped back material palette of exposed concrete soffits, hardwood floors and aluminium framed apertures. The design intent is to create a series of adaptable spaces through a kit of part set of elements that allow for each space to uniquely create a set of habitable spaces that interconnect for a short stay flexible experience.
The kit of parts features a bathroom or kitchen unit with habitable space above in the form of either a bed deck or study/reading area. Partitions are formed through open/closed back shelving with the remainder of objects being loose furniture. All electrical and plumbing is concentrated within the fixed furniture to allow the rest of the space as a foil for decoration.
